The large garden at Gamesley Fold Cottage has been planted to be in keeping with the property which dates back to around 1650. Lots of native wild flowers to attract butterflies, also herbs, medicinal, aromatic and culinary. Shrubs and trees are set out in an informal way to give colour and variety from early spring to late summer.
All the wild flowers and herbs have been grown from seed collected in the garden and a good selection of native and cottage garden plants are always avaliable for sale to visitors to raise funds for The National Gardens Scheme Charitable Trust.
Lovely all round views of the pennine hills and countryside surrounding this garden are another bonus for visitors.
Featured on many television programmes, this garden will appeal to visitors of all tastes.
